The COVID NUMBERS … milestone for Elliot Lake

With dose 10,000 Elliot Lake’s Family Health Team has reached a milestone in the fight against COVID-19.

Team member Doctor Tim diBortoli administered the shot on Friday afternoon adding the milestone is a wonderful symbol of the success of the vaccination process in protecting residents in the city.

Meanwhile,for the third consecutive day, Algoma Public Health is reporting a new case of COVID-29, all in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

The cases are all in self-isolation and close contacts have been contacted.

This brings the total of active cases in the district to three.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has had no new cases of the virus over the last two weeks. The four active cases within the jurisdiction are all in self-isolation.

Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella had a positive message for the people of Elliot Lake and is happy to report he received his second doze of the vaccine this week. He is advising the public to get their doses as soon as possible. Video provided by City of Elliot Lake.
