Routine vaccines being offered in time for school in the fall

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is offering routine vaccinations as required to attend school in the fall.

In a release, the agency recommends parents contact their health provider or the agency to verify their child’s immunization record.

The pandemic disrupted routine vaccines such as measles, mumps and polio shots and it is now time to get caught up.

Children must have up-to-date immunizations to attend school.

Catch-up clinics are now being offered for families with children aged 11 and under with others being announced later in the summer for students 12 years of age and older.

If a child is due or overdue for one or more vaccines, you can make an appointment at a catch-up clinic or with your health care provider. Note: COVID-19 vaccines will not be available at catch-up clinics and must be booked separately by visiting phsd.ca.

Clinic details

Appointment-based clinics will run every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from July 14 to August 31, inclusive. Evening appointments will also be available on Thursdays upon request.

Youth immunization appointment-based clinics will be held at various community locations including arenas. Additional clinics will be scheduled throughout Public Health’s service area.
