Women In Trades program up and running at Espanola campus

Cambrian College’s introduction of a new program, Women in Trades, is receiving a positive response with eight students enrolled in the program.

Espanola campus training consultant Celina Mantler says the exploratory program will give women who are interested in pursuing a career in trades the opportunity to work with experienced tradespeople.

Mantler adds while the main program runs for 12 weeks starting on June 21st, the students will also participate in an eight-week work placement.

She says mobile trades trailer labs have been set up for the participants for hands-on learning while most of the theory-based courses will be online.

She adds there are still four spots available for anyone interested in taking the program with the only requirement being that they identify as female and have access to a computer.

Registrations will be through Rebeka Robin or [email protected]
