Wiikwemkoong launches new web site for interactive trail

Highlighting some of the natural beauty of the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory is part of a launch being held today.

Wikwemikong Tourism is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day today as part of a week-long celebration of a new interactive experience at Bebamikawe (BA-Bam-ee-caw) Memorial Trail.

This interactive experience will take people on a self-guided hike along the Warriors Trail with users engaged through audio stories of Manitoulin Island, various lookouts as well as Anishnaabe translations of plants found along the trail.

The organization is encouraging visitors to hike all week and share their stories.

The new site is launching today.
