Ontario adds 296 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting its lowest daily COVID-19 cases since mid-September.

The province added 296 cases on Tuesday with forty-six per cent in the hot spots around the GTHA.

Another 13 people died with the death toll now at 8,974.

The recovery rate is steady at 97 per cent with more recoveries than new cases reported.

Over 17,000 tests were done over the last day with a new daily record of over 184,000 vaccines given.

Test positivity is at 2.3 per cent.
