Ontario Regional Chief elections this week

The Chiefs of Ontario Indians is hosting its 47th Annual All Ontario Chiefs Conference and elections for regional chief including two candidates from the local area.
As of yesterday, Glen Hare of M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island and Elaine Johnston of Serpent River First Nation have declared their intentions to run for the position.
A third candidate, Larry Sault of the Mississauga’s of the Credit First Nation, has also declared his intention to run.
The conference begins today and runs until Thursday with the election slated for tomorrow.
The Assembly is made up of the elected Chiefs of the 133 First Nation communities in Ontario.
