Cambrian College hosts 2021 graduation ceremony virtually

Cambrian College’s convocation ceremony will be delivered virtually again this year.

College President Bill Best says they want to celebrate its graduates but will do so virtually with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

He says the graduation will be broadcast live from the campus to the college’s website and Facebook page on June 16th at 11 am.

Best adds this year’s celebration will be interactive with students posting photos on social media, keynote speakers and the presentation of the President’s Gold and Silver Awards and Governor General’s Academic Medal.

Graduating students are being asked to participate by posting photos on social media of how they are celebrating their graduation, using the hashtag #CambrianGrad2021.

This year’s ceremony will include a special opening prayer from Elder Nokomis Martina and the performance of the national anthem by Pamela Teed, a Professor in the Music Performance program. The celebration will also include messages from Best, Student Council President Lynn Courville, alumna Gabrielle Roy, an entrepreneur in Greater Sudbury, and Cambrian Board Chair Paul Pedersen, Chief of the Greater Sudbury Police.
