Spring Semester attracts hundreds of students to Cambrian College

It will be another busy spring at Cambrian College.

Cambrian’s academic vice-president Dr. Paula Gouveia (GOO-vee-ah) says there are just over 1,600 students registered for the Spring semester, an increase of 12 per cent over last year.

She says among that number is 360 students who are new to the college.

She adds the college now offers six intakes throughout the year, including three new intakes added in the past year, November, March, and July to meet that demand.

Students are taking classes in 75 different programs this spring semester, everything from business to community services to health care to skilled trades, as well as micro-credentials – short, focused groups of courses bundled together to meet specific skill sets or industry needs, and students earn a certificate upon completion.
