Two face charges after suspected cocaine seized in Espanola

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after they were stopped by Manitoulin OPP.

OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says on Monday evening, police pulled over a vehicle in Espanola.

She says the driver displayed signs of impairment, and police arrested her.

Kash says the driver was also in possession of suspected cocaine.

The 42-year-old woman from Wiikwemkoong was charged with two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking and driving while under suspension, impaired, obstruction and open liquor.

A 37-year-old man from Espanola was also charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and open liquor.

Kasch adds both are to appear in Espanola court in July.
