Blind River mayor Sally Hagman and council has proclaimed the month of May as Community Living Algoma month.
She says there are organizations and individuals that council wanted to recognize including community living and local physicians as well as the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Hagman says we have all been under a lot of stress over the past 14 months with the pandemic and this week we can focus on naming, expressing, and dealing with our emotions since it is important for our mental health.
She also extended thanks to nursing staff and allied health professionals with Nursing Week this week, adding a special surprise is in store for local health facilitators on behalf of council.
