OPP investigates shooting in Espanola – four Espanola residents charged

The Manitoulin OPP has made additional arrests in connection to a January 21st, 2021 shooting incident on Albert Street in Espanola, in which one person was injured.
Three people were charged following the incident.

OPP Constable Phil Young says after further investigation, four more people were arrested and charged on Thursday.

The four face a variety of charges from assault with a weapon, robbery, assault and several firearm charges.

All four appeared in Espanola court today for bail hearings.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

The four individuals charged include

Damien BOURCIER, 39 years-of-age, from Espanola was charged with:

Assault With A Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

Disguise With Intent, contrary to section 351(2) of the CC

Robbery Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the CC

Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, contrary to section 86(1) of the CC

Firearm – Use While Committing Offence, contrary to section 85(1)(a) of the CC

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

 

Tyler GAUDREAU, 38 years-of-age, from Espanola was charged with:

Assault With A Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

Disguise With Intent, contrary to section 351(2) of the CC

Robbery Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the CC

Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, contrary to section 86(1) of the CC

Firearm – Use While Committing Offence, contrary to section 85(1)(a) of the CC

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

 

Lindsey THIBOUTOT, 36 years-of-age, from Espanola was charged with:

Assault With A Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

Disguise With Intent, contrary to section 351(2) of the CC

Robbery Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the CC

Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, contrary to section 86(1) of the CC

Firearm – Use While Committing Offence, contrary to section 85(1)(a) of the CC

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

 

Michael GUAY, 42 years-of-age, of Espanola, was charged with Robbery – Using Firearm, contrary to section 344(1)(a.1) of the CC.
