Sables-Spanish Rivers Township welcomed a new councillor this week.
Edith Fairburn out of Webbwood was the successful applicant to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Susan Sonnenburg earlier this year.
Council welcomed Fairburn to her first meeting Wednesday night thanking her for coming forward as one of the applications sent in for council’s review.
Sonnenburg resigned in early February stating being a councillor was no longer a positive experience for her, so she has resigned and is focusing on her work as an online teacher.
