OPP limiting access to detachments

As part of the stay home order by the provincial government, the Ontario Provincial Police is restricting public access to facilities and detachments.

OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says anyone needing access to policing services must make an appointment, be pre-screened and be wearing the proper personal protective equipment prior to entering any detachment.

The OPP is limiting the processing of routine criminal record checks/vulnerable sector checks and finger printing to essential workers/volunteers only.

She adds for detachment-based services such as criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, call the local detachment in your area to make the appointment between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

For emergencies, call 9-1-1 and/or report online by visiting opp.ca/reporting.
