Liberal candidate Craig Hughson on Ring of Fire

The Liberal candidate running in Algoma Manitoulin believes the feds will pony up money for the Ring of Fire.  The provincial Liberals are ready to commit $1 billion for a transportation link to the chromite and want matching dollars from the feds.  So far the Harper Tories haven’t committed but Liberal candidate Craig Hughson believes it’s just a matter of time.  Hughson believes as the Conservatives get closer to next year’s federal election, they’ll make an announcement on the Ring of Fire.  Meanwhile as a party, the provincial Liberals haven’t said if they prefer a rail or road link to the Chromite site.  But Hughson has a preference.  He says KWG, which is at the chromite site, makes a good case for a rail link because we already have Ontario Northland.  Next up on the Ring of Fire will be Libertarian candidate Richard Hadidian.
