Ontario reports over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for the first time since early February.

The province added 2,380 cases on Thursday but it says the count is higher by approximately 280 cases due to a data catch-up with their tracking system.

Seventy-one per cent of the reported cases are in the hot spots around the GTHA and Ottawa.

The death toll is now at 7,280 after another 17 people died.
