École catholique Georges Vanier in Elliot Lake is investing a great deal of energy and resources to offer programs and activities that can equip its students with science, technology, engineering, and math, commonly called STEM skills.
Board communication director Paul de la Riva says as part of the program, Grades 5 to 8 students participated in various workshops including a virtual escape room that had different brain exercises they had to execute to free themselves.
Grades 7 and 8 students were also able to attend a three-dimensional interactive experiences workshop offered by the University of Ottawa.
Using the CoSpaces app, they let their imaginations run wild by creating roller coasters and programming the path of an object.
