North Shore corridor communities working on community safety and well-being plan

A group formed by several representatives from various North Shore communities has created a Community Safety and Well-being plan.

Blind River, Spanish, Thessalon, and the townships of Huron Shores and the North Shore are working together on the plan which has the goal of creating communities where everyone is safe, has a sense of belonging, know what services are available and helps meet vital needs from housing to food to health care.

Blind River Deputy Clerk Pam Walsh says the planned deadline has been extended to July 1st, so the working group is gathering data from several sources in the communities to finalize the plan.

Once the data is collected, she says they will determine the key areas of concern and develop the plan to focus on those needs.

Hard copies of the survey are available at municipal offices or at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TF3ZXFH
