Members of the Commons Ethics Committee have voted unanimously to summon the founders of the WE charity to appear before them.
Craig and Marc Kielburger have declined one request to appear before the committee.
The summons has legal force, and it gives the brothers until Friday to respond.
The committee is looking into the charity’s handling of a since-cancelled 900-million dollar federal program designed to help students whose jobs disappeared during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There have been calls for investigations by the RCMP and the Canada Revenue Agency into the charity’s operations.
