Blind River councillor steps down from several posts

Following Blind River councillor Betty Ann Dunbar stepping down from the Blind River Development Corporation earlier this month, the council has now approved replacing her on several other committees.

The councillor stepped down following a report by Blind River Integrity Commissioner Tony Fleming where he stated she breached the Code of Conduct.

It was recommended by the commissioner she steps down and takes some training before being re-considered for committee work.

Council accepted her resignation from the corporation as well as the Blind River Chamber of Commerce, Library Board and Community Services Committee, and the Community Improvement Committee.

Councillors Jennifer Posteraro was appointed to the chamber, Paula Summers on the Library Board and Community Services Committee, and Steven Wells on the Community Improvement Committee.

The appointments become effective immediately.
