Blind River ratepayers will see a two percent increase in municipal taxes in 2021.
Blind River council has approved its 2021 budget after a brief online meeting Tuesday to look at the preliminary budget presented by treasurer Sue Dent.
Dent says the capital budget is $2.3 million with $1.4 million coming from this year’s tax levy.
She adds the rest will come from grants and reserves.
This means an average increase of around $36 for a property assessed at $100,000.
She adds most of the increases are a result of administration, fire, economic development, road reconstruction and garbage collection.
