Elliot Lake pioneer and former CKNR announcer pass away

One of Elliot Lake’s earlier pioneers has passed away.  Businessman Rudy Brunett has died at age 78.  Brunett came to Elliot Lake in 1958 when the uranium boom was in full swing.  Also passing away is a former announcer with CKNR in Elliot Lake when it was an A.M. station.  Peter St. Pierre, who used the name Pete Mackay on the air, hosted the country show Algoma Country on Sundays during the 1980s’.
