Cambrian College welcomes new students in January

Combining virtual theory and hands-on labs on campus is the direction Cambrian College is taking during its new semester.

Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian’s vice-president says Cambrian is offering over 30 programs as well as several graduate certificate programs for those who have already earned college or university accreditation.

She says to help new students prepare Cambrian has organized an extensive orientation where students are able to get ready for college from the comfort of their own home.

Registrations continue until January 15th.

She says several activities are planned for the orientation.

Activities and events planned for the January Orientation include

  • My First Week Photo Contest — A Worldwide Tour – Share a photo of yourself during your first week of classes or demonstrating your new year’s resolution for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship.
  • The Cambrian Chase – a digital scavenger hunt with other students from around the college!
  • 5 Days of Winter Photo Contest!
  • E-Sports Gaming Competition

Dr. Gouveia says in addition to semester starts in January, May and September, Cambrian is also introducing this year a new intake of students in March to meet the growing demand for post-secondary education year-round, particularly from international students and students not coming directly from high school.
