K9 leads officers to unresponsive man

Greater Sudbury Police officers were using the KT unit to find a robbery suspect but found an unresponsive man instead.

Constable Kaitlyn Dunn says police received a call about a robbery on Sunday evening, so the K9 unit was called in since the suspect had fled the scene.

She says the K9 found an unresponsive man outside a Frood Road residence instead and officers administered Naxolone helping the 23-year-old man recover from an overdose.

She adds he was transported to the hospital.

Dunn adds the officers were unable to find the suspect, so the search continues.

She adds the man believed to be responsible for the robbery is described as Caucasian, between 5’8” and 6’0” tall, around 180 to 200 lbs and was wearing dark clothes at the time of the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
