WC Eaket Secondary School woodworking students have built and donated two dugout shelters for the Blind River Park’s baseball diamond.

One of the partners, ELNOS general manager William Elliott says the work, called Sun-Safe Dugouts was done as a COVID-19 project, providing a unique opportunity for the students to give back to the community in the long-term.

Mayor Sally Hagman says the partners realized 2020 was stressful for your due to COVID-19 and this project provided them with the opportunity to be engaged in improving the community while also thinking outside the box in a community-wide effort.

The project was supported by ELNOS, the town’s public utilities corporation, the minor baseball league, L.O.E.G and the school.
