No funeral for man involved in shooting on Manitoulin Island

The investigation into a shooting in Gore Bay is continuing under the auspices of the Special Investigations Unit.

The unit says both 52-year-old Manitoulin OPP Constable Marc Hovingh and 60-year-old Gary Brohman died on November 19th.

The agency says they exchanged gunfire after police responded to a call regarding an unwanted man on a property in Gore Bay.

They say three civilian witnesses have been interviewed but had no further information to provide except to state it is unknown when they will release their final report, which could take months.
