Five people have died in the Manitoulin and Sudbury districts this past Friday in unrelated incidents.
Sudbury Police investigated the death of a 38-year-old pedestrian who died around 4 Friday morning.
The incident involved a collision between the man and a pickup truck on Municipal Road 55 between Balsam Street and Big Nickel Road in Copper Cliff.
His name has not been released out of respect for his family’s wishes.
Manitoulin OPP investigated a head-on collision around 7:30 am, which occurred just west of the Espanola turn-off on Highway 17.
Police says 23-year old Zachary Duval of Espanola and 62-year-old Robert McGirr of North Bay were pronounced dead at the scene.
Manitoulin OPP also partnered with the Wikwemikong Police Service to investigate a drowning Friday afternoon on the North Shore of Georgian Bay.
Police say two individuals had gone out fishing and fell overboard, but one man did not make it to shore.

The Special Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation into a fatal domestic dispute in Little Current, which took place Friday morning.
The agency says a person was armed and had barricaded themselves inside a residence.

All four incidents are currently under investigation by either the SIU or the Ontario Office of the Chief Coroner.
