A one-year-old boy is dead following a shooting northeast of Toronto.
The provincial Special Investigations Unit says the OPP were responding to a call about a child abduction yesterday near Lindsay, Ontario.
When they attempted to stop the suspect’s pickup truck, it was involved in a collision that seriously injured one officer.
Other officers opened fire, wounding the driver.
The suspect’s one-year-old son, riding in the back seat of the truck, was struck by a bullet and killed.
But the SIU says it’s unclear whether an OPP officer fired the shot.
