Remembrance Day Ceremonies in our local area

Remembrance Day 2020 will be quite different from any other held in the last 75 years.

Legion veterans, members and supporters will gather at cenotaphs and memorials throughout the Sudbury, Manitoulin, and Algoma districts, but with COVID-19 protocols in place including the mandatory wearing of a mask and maintaining physical distancing.

All the wreaths will have been laid prior to the ceremonies at the 11th hour.

Ceremonies will be held at the Massey and Espanola Legions, at the cenotaph in Blind River, the Manitoulin Island Cenotaph in Spring Bay, Gore Bay, as well as at First Nation memorial sites in Wiikwemkoong and Aundeck Omni Kaning.

A short ceremony is also to be held at the Little Current Cenotaph at 1:00 pm.
