Five COVID-19 cases in Sudbury, one in Algoma

Cambrian College continues with its deep cleaning of staff and student common areas following a second positive case of COVID-19.

College President Bill Best says the person was in various locations on the Barrydowne Campus on Monday, but none involved student instruction or student residence.

Cambrian will not say whether the case involves a student, employee, or faculty member, but that the protocols are being followed and the person is in self-isolation.

The case was also reported to Public Health Sudbury & Districts.

Meanwhile, Case #41 has been reported by Algoma Public Health in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

That individual is in self-isolation.

The cause is believed to be community spread.

And, four new cases are being reported by Public Health Sudbury & Districts.

The agency says one is travel-related while the other three are from close contact with someone who has travelled.

The unit does not state if all four cases are connected.

All four from the Greater Sudbury area are in self-isolation.
