In other years, the SudburyRocks Marathon would gather and run as a group, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year an Espanola woman will run by herself.
Lisa Tobodo will be out running in Espanola this Sunday as part of the event to help raise funds for the Northern Cancer Foundation.
She says two of her friends have begun their battle to fight cancer, so she wanted to do what she could adding her run also honours the two brave women.
Tobodo says she is just slightly short of her goal of $1,000 but appreciates the support adding every dollar counts towards the fight against cancer.
She adds anyone wishing to donate, can do so online with the foundation providing receipts.
