Elliot Lake council to review sick time due to COVID-19

Making an amendment to the sick time policy for Elliot Lake city employees will be discussed by council.

City Human Rights Coordinator Eric Moss is recommending that council amend the city’s sick leave policy as it relates to COVID-19.

He is looking for an exemption of the city’s sick leave policy pertaining to full-time non-unionized staff, CUPE Local 170 members and full-time firefighters.

In response to COVID-19, he is asking that any time loss directly related to the disease to not count directly towards their four sick days now allowed under the policy, which would also fall in line with provincial mandates.

Council will discuss the amendment at 7:00 pm at the meeting livestreamed at elliotlake.ca
