Mississauga First Nation Police investigating a moose left to rot

The East Algoma OPP, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Mississauga First Nation Police are investigating a case where a moose was shot and left to rot on the First Nation Territory this past Sunday.

OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says that around 5:30 pm on Sunday, the fresh moose carcass was found off of Canoe Lake Road on a trail near the powerlines.

She says when the complainant returned 15 minutes later, the carcass was on fire with its hindquarters and antlers removed.

Gauthier says anyone with any information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
