The kindness of coffee

Despite, or maybe because of COVID-19, the kindness of Tim Hortons fans has led to the best year yet for three local franchises for Camp Day 2020.

Denis Lefebvre who owns the franchises in Blind River, McKerrow and Espanola says the public came out in droves to help them exceed last year’s total by over $2,000.

He says the three franchises raised $20,876 and counting.

Lefebvre is especially proud Espanola is second in the country for the sale of bracelets, McKerrow third.

He adds a big thank you to the Baldwin Firefighters, Espanola Lions Club and other volunteers for supporting Camp Day 2020 to help young people learn leadership and other life skills.

Elliot Lake owner Nancy Wyman says she is especially pleased with her franchise raising $4,134.91.
She points out they kept the campaign simple this year due to COVID-19 restrictions and appreciates the community support.
She says thank you to everyone who helped out this year, one that will go down in history as one of the most unusual ever.
