Anyone who wants to access library services in Elliot Lake will have to wait a while longer.
McCowan and Associates own the Pearson Plaza where the library is located and the city had been pushing them to get repairs to the roof done since late fall.
Ron McCowan confirmed to The Moose that repairs will begin soon.
City CAO Daniel Gagnon says the project is expected to take several weeks to add a membrane to prevent future leaks and likely won’t reopen until late summer/early fall.
He adds they are waiting for McCowan to provide some details in regard to the scope of the work involved.
He adds the city has not paid any rent since early in the year, but there was little else they could do to compel the landlord to act sooner.
