Elliot Lake council approves grant application; Elliot Lake Asset Management Program

The City of Elliot Lake will be applying for a $50,000 grant from the Federation of Canadian
Municipalities’ Municipal Asset Management Program.
Director of Public Works Daryl Halloch had asked the council for $12,500 for the grant application to
move ahead.
He says the funding will be used for upgrades to the Elliot Lake Asset Management Program, which must
be finalized by July 31 st, 2024.
Council agreed last night to the investment with the $12,500 coming from the 2020 operating budget.
The funding will be used to review
· Asset Assessments – Roads and Sidewalks
· Asset Management Plans – Update plan to meet 588/17 regulatory requirements and
implement Environmental Policies and Communication Strategy
· Training, Organizational Development and Knowledge Transfer – Training for staff,
· establishment of asset management committees or working group and adoption of new asset
management system
