Jazz festival cancelled in Sudbury

The City of Greater Sudbury’s Ramsey Lake and downtown are the usual venues for the annual Jazz
Festival, but organizers say this year’s event has to be cancelled due to COVID-19.
Festival Director Katherine Smith says the twelfth instalment of the festival, which was to take place August 5 th to 9th, will be replaced this year with alternative programming.
She says organizers are planning virtual shows to help keep local musicians employed throughout these unprecedented times.
Smith adds the date change will remain in effect for next year’s festival, set to take place August 4-8, 2021.
