Another 441 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario, deaths surpass 2,000

Ontario has added another 441 cases of COVID-19 over the last day.  This is the highest daily total of new cases this week. That brings the total number of cases to 24,628.

There have been 55 new cases in residents of long-term care homes and 22 among staff.  There have been 6,334 residents and employees of long-term care infected with COVID-19 during the pandemic.

Public Health Ontario reports another 28 people have died and the death toll now sits at 2,021.

The recovery rate remains at 76-percent.

The province reports there were 11,276 tests done yesterday, the highest number this week, but still well below the daily testing capacity of 19,500.
