Police Week events cancelled – celebrating virtually

Police across the country are being celebrated as part of Police Week 2020.
Locally, there are no planned events, such as open houses or bike derbies due to COVID-19 restrictions.
National Police Week began in 1970 as a way for the police to connect with their communities and to increase awareness about the services they provide.
It coincides with Peace Officers Memorial Day, recognized internationally on May 15th.
All local policing agencies in the three districts of Algoma, Manitoulin and Sudbury endorse this year’s theme – Leading the Way to Safer Communities.
