Noojmowin Teg supports families

Assisting First Nation members with health care is the main mandate of the Noojmowin Teg in Espanola and on Manitoulin Island, but thanks to partnerships, it can also be the conduit to helping out the wider community.
Executive Director Pamela Williamson says they agency received 250 packages containing diapers and books in a bag from Domtar for distribution to various community agencies and family programs.
She says Dan’s Towing of Espanola provided the transportation to distribute them.
Williamson says, in turn, the packages will now be distributed to those in need including Child Prevention Services in Wiikwemkoong, the Manitoulin Family Resource in Mindemoya, the Massey Food Bank, Our Children, Our Future program in Espanola and the Espanola Family Health Team.
The project was launched as part of the local Earth Choice Comfort and Care Program for Earth
Week of 2020.
