Three more education contracts ratified

Ontario Minister of Education Stephen Lecce says three more unions have ratified agreements, with one more to go.

Members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation are to vote on a tentative deal this month.

Lecce says the latest three unions to ratify three-year contracts retroactive to 2019 and ending in 2021 are the Ontario Council of Educational Workers, the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association.

He adds contracts have also been signed by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the Education Workers’ Alliance of Ontario, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario.

Lecce says their primary objective was reached in signing good deals with teachers’ and education workers’ unions, which will advance priorities for staff, parents and students alike.
