Testing underway at long-term in Espanola – Manitoulin Lodge next week

Testing is underway at the Espanola Nursing Home as of press time.
And, any inpatients at the Espanola Regional Hospital are also automatically tested.
Manitoulin Lodge on Manitoulin Island will be doing a thorough testing of residents and staff for COVID-19 as ordered by the province.
Lodge administrator Susan Farren says effective May 11th and 12th, Manitoulin Lodge will proceed in carrying out the swabbing.
She says any staff member who tests positive will be required to self-isolate for at least 14 days and any member who refuses testing will be prohibited from working at the lodge.
In addition, she adds they are following up on Public Health Sudbury and Districts recommendations to test all residents including those tested more than 72 hours ago.
Farren says family or primary contacts will be notified of test results as they are received.
