Blind River Food Bank changes up procedures

The Blind River Food Bank has stepped up its dispersal services to meet COVID-19 protocols.
Committee chair, Steven Wells says clients no longer come inside, rather they receive a prepared bag of non-perishable food depending on the size of the client’s household.
He says they have also had to reduce the number of volunteers to ensure they maintain physical distancing.
Wells adds the food bank registration process has been simplified and if anyone needs access, they can call him.
Located at 65 Youngfox Rd., the bank is open Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The yard sale remains closed to shoppers. Donations of used household items are not being accepted until further notice.
“Please do not leave items at the door,” Wells says.
For more information or to register, call Wells at 705-576-2077.
