Three new COVID-19 test sites opened in local region

The Algoma and Manitoulin districts now have three new COVID-19 test sites.

According to the release, testing at the sites is by appointment only and walk-ins are prohibited.

They will be open Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Elliot Lake’s St. Joseph’s Hospital has now been designated an official assessment centre.

Hospital CEO Pierre Ozolins says the Elliot Lake Family Health Team has partnered with the hospital to open the test centre Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

HE says the unit will receive calls from the public, assess and based on Ontario Public Health Guidelines and when applicable, obtain samples for testing.
