The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities, FONOM, has cancelled its conference.
FONOM President Danny Whalen the board is aware of the risk to the public by the COVID-19 virus, as well as the existing and potential burden on health care services
He says following discussions with government and health agencies they have decided to cancel the 2020 AGM and conference, which was to be held in Timmins on May 13th to 15th.
He adds all municipal representatives, trade show exhibitors and sponsors will receive a full refund.
