A coroner’s inquest will look into the death of a Sudbury man who died when he was run over by a vehicle at the Nickel Rim South Mine over four years ago.
Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Dr. Emily Groot has ordered the inquest into the death of 54-year-old Richard Pigeau who died on October 20th, 2015.
She says since he died in a mine, the inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act and up to 14 witnesses will be called as part of the court proceedings.
Dr. Groot says it will be held at the Sudbury Courthouse on April 20th with the jury having the opportunity to make recommendations to prevent similar deaths. Â
