Strike cancelled for Thursday – three boards affected Friday

All Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools will be open across Ontario Thursday following the cancellation of a walkout by the union.

The union has cancelled the walkout tomorrow due to the inclement weather expected over the next 48 hours.

However, all French Catholic schools in the Algoma and Sudbury districts will be closed on Friday.

And all French Public secondary school classes are also cancelled on Friday in Sudbury and Espanola due to ongoing job action by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation.

CSCNO schools in Elliot Lake, Blind River and Spanish are open Friday.

The Rainbow District School Board has also cancelled classes in its secondary schools on Friday.

The federation not only includes teachers as well as support staff, which has led to the French Catholic board choosing to close its schools on Friday.

Schools in the Algoma District School Board are not affected and will be open on Friday.
