One-day strike underway across Ontario
Almost 5,000 schools in Ontario are closed today because of a one-day strike by all four major education unions.

Four education unions are on the picket lines today shutting down schools across Ontario.
All schools, elementary and secondary, have cancelled classes in the Algoma, Manitoulin and Sudbury districts.
Transportation is also cancelled as well as adult and supportive programming.
In addition, extra-curricular activities, field trips and Co-operative Education placements for secondary students are cancelled.
Nearly 200,000 teachers and education workers with 72 Ontario school boards are on the picket line today to protest government cuts.
