The federal Indigenous Minister Marc Miller says Whitefish River First Nation should be proud of its growth, especially with its school facilities.
Miller was impressed with the advanced programming offered at Shawanosowe School, including coding and fish planting, during his tour on Friday.
He also said the melding of the new daycare adjacent to the school offering seamless education from birth to Grade Six makes the facility state-of-the-art.
Miller also expressed a desire for open dialogue with the federal government and First Nations working together.
His day also included a tour of the new water tower and plant and the nearly completed Elder’s Lodge.
