The Elliot Lake Family Health Team is welcoming a new doctor who will also help some of the 1,300 people in Elliot Lake who do not have a family physician.
Health team Executive Director Nancy Ewen says Dr. Emery Nelson grew up in Elliot Lake and is a graduate of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
Dr. Nelson is currently seeing patients at the Elliot Lake Family Health Team clinic and will start seeing new patients in September.
She completed her training in Sudbury and also completed placements in Elliot Lake during her residency.
