Strike action continues in the Algoma, Manitoulin, and Sudbury districts involving three teachers’ unions.
Rainbow District School Board elementary schools were closed yesterday and remain closed today.
Algoma District School Board elementary schools cancelled classes today and will do so once again tomorrow.
And, the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon (French Catholic) schools will close both elementary and secondary schools on Thursday, due to increased escalation by both the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation and the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (French Catholic elementary teachers union).
The job action also affects all Grade 7&8 programs at secondary schools, Rockhaven School and adult literacy programs in the various boards.
The unions are protesting the lack of bargaining talks with the provincial government.
